HOW TO APPLY FOR ENERGY ASSISTANCE IN CHIPPEWA COUNTY
- Call 715-726-7840 to schedule a face-to-face or telephone appointment to complete an interactive application. With this option, it is NOT necessary to complete the paper application, but you will be required to turn in verification documents to complete the application .
- Complete an energy assistance paper application.
Paper applications are accepted for two years then the third year, you will need a face-to-face or telephone interview.
- Paper forms are available at the link above or call 715-726-7840 to request an application be mailed to you.
- Completed applications (along with the required documents - see checklist above) can be returned by mail, dropped off at the Human Services/Economic Support reception desk Room 305 (third floor) of the Chippewa County Courthouse located at 711 North Bridge Street in Chippewa Falls,
or faxed to 715-726-7833.

Crisis assistance is available to help prevent no heat emergencies, disconnections, help get utilities reconnected or minimum deliveries of LP or fuel oil. After hours crisis calls are redirected to the Sheriff’s Department for assistance.
NON-EMERGENCY PROACTIVE ASSISTANCE
We can provide information on how to reduce fuel costs, budget counseling referrals, providing payments to fuel suppliers, and co-payment agreements.
FURNACE REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT
If your furnace stops working or is unsafe to operate, we can have a contractor come to your home for an evaluation. Repairs and furnace replacements are done by our contractors free of charge. After hour furnace calls are redirected to the Sheriff’s Department for assistance.
WISCONSIN WEATHERIZATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Weatherization Assistance Program helps homeowners and renters reduce energy consumption while increasing comfort in their homes. Weatherization improvements may also make your home environment healthier and safer. When you receive benefits from the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program you are automatically placed on a referral list for possible weatherization services for your home.
