Jail Annouces Technology Advancement
****Jail Press Release****
On April 27th 2016, the Chippewa County Jail along with CBM & TechFriends has teamed up to move the jail into the advanced world of technology. The jail has added yet another feature on the recently added pod-kiosk’s that are in each housing unit of the jail.
The inmate population will now be able to send emails to their family and friends for $.50 per email. If the inmate does not have the funds to send out an email, they can send a collect email and ask the recipient to pay for it. This convenient feature will assist the inmate in getting a correspondence out much faster than the conventional method of sending out a letter. This is also very beneficial in respect to time-management as well as helpful for the jail staff in having to go through the mail procedure for outgoing and incoming mail.
In order for the public to utilize this feature, they will need to create an account on www.JailATM.com and select the email button to read and respond to your emails. With that being said, we also have a feature for a “Privileged user,” such as an attorney. If you’re an attorney and would like to have an account set up as a privileged user, please contact Captain De La Rosa at 715-726-7705.
If you have any further questions, please contact the Sheriff at 715-726-7703, Captain Ernan De La Rosa at the Jail 715-726-7705 or the Jail Division at 715-7707 for assistance. Please remember with the exception of the encrypted emails for the privileged user (i.e., attorneys), all emails are subject to review.
