This office serves as a resource by maintaining survey monuments, ownership records, and a variety of mapping information.
Land Records
The Land Records Division continues to develop and support land records modernization efforts in Chippewa County. Existing data is constantly being updated and new projects and data layers are created as required.
Office and Field Duties: The Land Records Division is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the base mapping for the entire county. The creation of the base map is one of the priorities of the Chippewa County Land Records Modernization Plan. This mapping is distributed to the various county departments and has proven to be a powerful tool in helping the departments’ access information quickly and efficiently. The Land Records Division staff has an excellent working relationship with many different offices. Land Records provides training in ARCVIEW GIS to any and all interested departments or agencies.
Access to this information is also available to the general public. This access includes the parcel data overlaid on the most recent aerial photo of the county, and access to a database of all the surveys that have been filed.
Land Records also has the privilege of creating Countywide road maps and other specialized maps that are utilized throughout the County.
