Legal & Law Enforcement
The Legal and Law Enforcement Committee provides policy oversight to the following departments: Sheriff’s Department, Emergency Management, Child Support, Register in Probate, Juvenile Court Intake, District Attorney, Crime Victim Witness and Clerk of Courts. The committee consists of five County Board Supervisors that are appointed for a two-year term. The Committee meets every two months or as needed.
PLEASE NOTE: The Chippewa County Code of Ordinances has been completely reviewed, amended and adopted in order to codify Resolution 39-11. That resolution adopted proposals to restructure the Chippewa County Committees, Boards and Commissions to accommodate the downsizing of the Chippewa County Board of Supervisors from 29 to 15 supervisors in April 2012.
The former Legal Committee and the Law Enforcement Committee have been consolidated and renamed the Legal and Law Enforcement Committee.
