Genealogy hours in our office are on Tuesday & Wednesday only from 8:00 am – 4:15 pm.
Genealogy search time will be limited to one (1) hour when maximum capacity of searchers is met.

The Chippewa County Genealogical Library is located in the Area History Center, next to Nortre Dame Church on the East Hill. The building, built in 1883, was formerly the Notre Dame Convent.

Where else are Wisconsin vital records available?
You can purchase certified and uncertified copies of birth, death, and marriage certificates at the Register of Deeds office in the county in which the event occurred. For example, if a child was born in Chippewa County, you can purchase a birth certificate at the Chippewa County Register of Deeds office.
