Chippewa County indexing information is available free through this link. The free search option allows you to search by party name, document type and date recorded. When searching by date recorded additional criteria is required. If additional criteria are unknown you may enter % as a party name. If you decide that you need to view the actual image of the record then you must use the link for Tapestry and pay the applicable fee. 

Public Access Terminals are available in the Register of Deeds Office, Chippewa County Courthouse, 711 N. Bridge Street, Chippewa Falls, WI  54729.   Public Access Terminals are free of charge and are available for use during normal office hours.

What records can I access? 

  • In Chippewa County the Tract Index/Images are available beginning in 1956 (including CSM & Plat maps 1800’s - Current).    Please note: Tract and grantor/grantee index prior to 1997 have not been verified and may contain errors. 

What equipment do I need? 

  • You need Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later. You also need Adobe's PDF Acrobat Viewer to display document images. 

What are the fees? 

  • All searches cost $5.95. Each search can give you up to 200 listings. You can look at the detailed information about each document free of charge. If you want to print an image, the cost is 50 cents per page.  Flexible Payment Options:
  • Pay as-you-go with a credit card – Visa & MasterCard accepted
  • Open Account Payment Plan - $25 minimum per month
