The Chippewa County Public Firearms Range and
Firearms Training Center, located northwest of Tilden, has been
closed as of May 2006 as the result of safety concerns when bullets
escaped the range. This range was closed for the discharging of all
firearms, but with community support, community
donations and a lot of volunteer hard work, the range is now open
again.
The 100 yard range rifle range and 25 yard pistol range are now open
to t he public. Both ranges have newly installed bullet catchers
which are on top of the new 25 foot impact berms. The shooting
shelter incorporates no blue sky designs, which helps maintain all
projectiles on the range. New to the range is an Range Safety
Officer Hut where NRA Certified Range Safety Officers who donate
their time will be available at various times to ensure range
safety. The Educational Facility is available to reserve for firearm
educational training and certifications.
Range Usage Fees Required: $2 Daily or $15 Annually.
Range fees include immediate family members under the age of 18.
All shooters using the range MUST read the range rules and standard
operating procedures and sign a form indicating that they agree to
abide by the rules and operating procedures BEFORE SHOOTING. If you
are interested in making donations to the range or becoming a NRA
Range Safety Officer, please click on the contacts to the left.

Thank you for your continued support in this
important community project.
Your support
would be appreciated as this is a public range and funding is
limited to what we can find from our sponsors and community. If you
would like to help with our project please send your donations to
the address at the bottom of this page.
