New K-9 Max successful on his first tracking deployment!

Post Date:12/15/2017 10:11 AM

Officers in Western Wisconsin were involved in a motor vehicle pursuit. The driver was unable to maintain a lane of traffic and was all over the road. Deputy Bloom and K-9 joined in the pursuit. The suspect vehicle crashed and 3 subjects fled on foot. Initial information was that the operator ran between 2 pole sheds. K-9 was deployed and picked up the track which lead up a steep ditch and transitioned into the residential area. K-9 continued to track for approximately 2.5-3 miles through a residential area with about a dozen roadway crossings, through backyards and over a fence. K-9 tracked to a locked garage where the track ended. The homeowner was contacted and advised officers the garage should not be locked nor should there be anyone inside. As officers prepared for entry, Deputy Bloom gave a K9 Warning and made his presence known. The female subject immediately surrendered. She was taken into custody and it was discovered that she had outstanding felony probation violation warrants for her arrest. The female suspect is currently in the jail on felony warrants in addition to new charges she received from last night’s incident. Well done guys!
