Ref: Two Vehicle Crash With Injury Involving On-Duty Sheriff's Deputy.
Location: Town of Woodmohr, Chippewa County, Wisconsin
STH 64 and STH 40/CTH SS
Agencies: Chippewa Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Bloomer Police Department, Bloomer Fire and EMS
Details: On 03-08-16 at 0747 am the above agencies responded to a two vehicle crash with injury involving an on-duty Chippewa County Sheriff's Deputy. Upon investigation it reveled that the Sheriff's Deputy, in a fully marked SUV squad was traveling east bound on STH 64. A vehicle traveling north bound on STH 40/CTH SS failed to yield the right a way from a stop sign and pulled out in front of the Deputy. The Deputy was injured in the crash and transported to local hospital to be treated for non life threatening injuries. The operator of the second vehicle involved complained of being sore and refused medical transport. The operator was cited for failure to yield right a way from a stop sign. Both operators were using safety restraints. The Wisconsin State Patrol is the investigating agency for the crash.
