Recording and Filing Fees

Fees are governed by Wisconsin Statutes and are uniform throughout the State

RECORDED DOCUMENTS

(Recorded documents will be returned to sender or designee.)

Deeds, Mortgages, Land Contracts, Satisfactions, Notice of Federal Tax Liens, and Miscellaneous Documents
entitled to be recorded in the Register of Deeds Office cost:

$11.00 first page     $2.00 each additional page

Note:
Maximum size sheet: 8 ½" x 14".  One side of a sheet constitutes a page and any printing on the backside is considered another page.

Termination of Decedents Property Interest
 through Register of Deeds Office cost:  $25.00, regardless of the number of pages.

 
Copies
of recorded documents are $2.00 for the first page and $1.00 each additional page, plus $1.00 for certificate if a certified copy is requested.

 

PLATS

A. Subdivisions

     $50.00 per plat.

B. Cemetery Plats


     $50.00 per plat.

C. Condominium Plats


     $50.00 per plat.

D. Transportation Plat


     $25.00, each sheet is regarded as a plat

REAL ESTATE TRANSFER FEES

1.  A transfer form and fee or exemption number is required for all conveyances EXCEPT
     when exemptions 1, 2 (unless transferor is lender in transaction), 2r, 4   and 11 apply.

2.   Form is to be completed in DETAIL.

3.   Current rate of fee is $3.00 per $1000 of value rounded off to the next higher hundred.
      See form for exceptions.

4.   VALUATION MUST BE SHOWN when document is exempt by Stat. 77.25(8).
      Except  #3 & #10 

5.   Both Grantor and Grantee OR their agent MUST sign form.

6.   Transfers involving rental property must be accompanied by one of the following
      Department of Commerce (fka DILHR): 
  

a. Certificate of Compliance $11.00
b. Stipulation $11.00
c. Waiver $11.00
   
Stipulation/Waiver fee $20.00
(Payable to Register of Deeds)

                 

UNIFORM COMMERCIAL CODE

Only use the National Standard Forms and Addendums

Financing Statements that are real estate related must be filed with the Register of Deeds office. The real estate box on the form must be checked or the filing will be rejected. All other Financing Statements are filed with the Department of Financial Institutions.

Filing fees are $11.00 for the first page and $2.00 for each additional page.

A search of the Financing Statements can be preformed on the DFI web site. www.wdfi.org. Copies of financing statements are $2.00 for the first page and $1.00 for additional pages of the dame doc.

Our policy is that all fees be prepaid before any documents are recorded or requests fulfilled.

VITAL RECORD CERTIFIED COPY FEES 

1.  Birth Certificate - $20.00*
2.  Marriage Certificate -
$20.00*
3.  Death Certificate
- $20.00*

 *Plus $3.00 for each additional copy ordered at the same time as the first copy. To obtain a copy of any of the above vital records an application must be completed.
